Law Enforcement Officer I (Degree)
This work involves the enforcement of state laws regulating the sale of alcoholic beverages. ABC Enforcement Agents conduct investigations for the issuance of retail dealer permits and into the illicit manufacture, transportation and sale of alcoholic beverages. Work also includes undercover investigations, executing search and seizure warrants, arresting law violators, and testifying as a witness for the State in criminal and civil cases.
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in criminal justice, law enforcement, criminology, police science, police administration, or a directly related field. if the degree is in another field, a current Mississippi Law Enforcement Professional Certificate is required.
Special Requirements
Applicant must be at least 21 years of age and a citizen of the United States.
Salary Range
$47,000.00 to $50,000.00
Investigation Team Lead
This position involves specialized tax investigative work, characterized by an analysis of accounting records and violations of Mississippi State law and regulations to determine criminal intent. The work typically involves allegations that cannot be verified directly and records that are incomplete, requiring the ability to apply indirect methods of proof and to reconstruct data complicated by willful acts of concealment. The work is broad in scope and involves sophisticated investigative techniques to be able to correlate and document these activities. The incumbent represents the Department of Revenue on the subject of tax fraud with federal, state, county, and municipal prosecutors and enforcement agencies and, in many instances, exercises functional supervision over professional/technical/clerical employees.
Required Education
Incumbent must have an attitude of independence, be self-reliant in analytical ability, and have experience in tax/accounting/auditing applications or have a Criminal Justice degree and four (4) years experience investigating financial crimes, to identify the existence and nature of violations of the Commission.

Revenue Officer I
This Revenue Specialist I position will hold the title of Revenue Officer I in the Tax Enforcement Division of the Agency. This position involves the serving of legal documents, seizure and sale of real and personal property, and proper processing of monies collected for the purpose of resolving finally determined taxes owed the state of Mississippi. This is done while ensuring taxpayers are allowed their constitutional right of due process under the law. Jobs at this level are responsible for the collection of business and individual taxes for taxpayers located within an assigned territory and will require field interaction at both business and residential locations. This is a performance-based position and requires proactive outreach to delinquent taxpayers, while working remotely.
Required Education
Typically requires a bachelor’s degree, or high school diploma and 4 years of work-related experience
