General Information
A title is a secure, negotiable document representing ownership of a motor vehicle or a manufactured housing unit issued by the Mississippi Department of Revenue. Since 1969, Mississippi has required all motor vehicles to be titled. As of 1999, trailers over 5,000 pounds gross vehicle weight (GVW) and manufactured homes must be titled. Pre-1969 motor vehicles are voluntarily titled.

- If the buyer and seller are related (spouse, child, parent, grandchild, or grandparent, brother, sister), an Affidavit of Relationship should be completed.
