The Bankruptcy Section is responsible for the administration of bankruptcy cases, claims, and payments for the Mississippi Department of Revenue.
Please notify the department if you have filed bankruptcy. Notification must include the following information:
- Taxpayer Name(s)
- Tax Account Number(s)
- Bankruptcy Case Number
- Bankruptcy Chapter
- Specific Court District in which the Case is Filed

Information for Bankruptcy Practitioners
Any and all bankruptcy related correspondence, including, but not limited to motions, payments, and 1308 pre-petition tax return filings, should be submitted to P.O. Box 22808, Jackson, MS 39225-2808. Questions should be directed to the Bankruptcy Administrator at 601-923-7393.
Request for Tax Transcript
Taxpayers can obtain a tax transcript from the Mississippi Department of Revenue which is a certification by the DOR of whether or not the taxpayer filed a tax return for each of the prior four years. The fee for this service is $10.00. To obtain a tax transcript, a "Request for Tax Transcript Form" should be downloaded from the DOR website, completed by the taxpayer, and then mailed to our office along with the required fee. Tax transcripts will be provided within approximately ten business days from the date the request is received by the DOR.
