Regarding Mississippi Emergency Communications Authority Act for Next Generation 911
Telecommunications Service Providers may now begin the registration process for a Next Generation (NG) 911 account by going to the Mississippi Department of Revenue's Taxpayer Access Point (TAP) HERE and clicking on “Apply for Tax Accounts, Liquor Permits, Amusement Decals” under the “Apply Online” section of the homepage.
Per Senate Bill 2835, which passed during the 2025 Regular Session of the Mississippi Legislature, a new monthly fee for emergency communications will be levied on services provided by telecommunications companies. All service providers must remit the fees collected monthly to the Mississippi Department of Revenue by registering for an NG911 account which will be used to file the monthly returns. The first return is due by February 20, 2026, to report fees collected in the January 2026 period.
