Libraries

Mississippi's Public Libraries and the Mississippi Library Commission have joined with the Department of Revenue to promote the use of electronic filing of Individual Income returns by utilizing library computers.

There are 2000 computers with high-speed internet connectivity in the 240 public libraries that Mississippians may use for completing tax returns - and a multitude of other purposes.

Many Mississippians qualify to file their state and federal returns free of charge through the Free File Alliance. Lower and middle-income taxpayers, those who are eligible for the federal Earned Income Tax Credit, active duty military, seniors, and students may qualify to file free. See information and links concerning the programs offered by the various providers. Fill-able paper forms are also available to complete and print.

For those who do not desire to file electronically or prepare their return on the computer, the libraries maintain paper forms for your convenience.
